The Eagle and the Hawk – Well generated anti war film with cautious idol March, frightening gunner Grant, everyone’s buddy Oakie, and considerate city gal Lombard. Awakening John Mouk Saunders tale is still well timed. Cast includes Fredric March, Cary Grant, Jack Oakie, Carole Lombard, and Douglas Scott. (68 minutes,’33)
Jack of Diamonds – Hamilton plays a cat burglar who pillages jewelry from Baker, Gabor, and Palmer, who are “special guests” in this motion picture. Sidestep this one and wait for “To Catch a Robber” to be shown. Cast includes George Hamilton, Joseph Cotten, Marie Laforet, Maurice Evans, Carroll Baker, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Lilli Palmer. Vertical Limit – Peter Garett, an ex mountain climber who gave the sport up after his father died wretchedly while climbing, finds himself in a problematical circumstances. His sister and climbing partner have been trapped in a deep chasm while attempting to climb the famous K2 peak. He is one of the few people capable of even attempting a near impossible rescue. Time is of the essence, as the trapped climbers will soon freeze to death.
In Enemy Country – Indifferent WW2 story, set in France and England, filmed on a back-lot. Not particularly persuading. Cast includes Tony Franciosa, Anjanette Comer
My Son the Hero – Ambitious flick in regards to sinister Emperor Cadmus of Thebes, who challenges the lords and faces the fury of the Titans. Cast includes Pedro Armendariz, Jacqueline Sassard, Antonella Lualdi, and Giuliano Gemma. (122 minutes,’62)
