The Great Lie: Brent weds Davis after breaking off an engagement with Astor. Astor is carrying his child. He is lost in a plane crash, leaving Davis and pregnant Astor to battle each other and all the complications. Cast includes Mary Astor, Bette Davis, George Brent, Lucile Watson, Hattie McDaniel, Permit Mitchell, and Jerome Cowan. (107 minutes, 1941)

Albino Alligator: Disheartening flick in regards to a trio of dysfunctional lawbreakers who hide out in a basement bar in New Orleans, accidentally starting a crisis. In the mean time, the Feds assemble outside, imagining a much more perilous and desired lawbreaker is holed up inside. Spacey’s directorial debut presents an excellent cast and gets off to a promising start, however it sputters to a dramatic stop midway through. Cast includes Matt Dillon, Faye Dunaway, Gary Sinise, William Fichtner, Viggo Mortensen, John Spencer, and Skeet Ulrich. Cast includes Emmet Walsh, Joe Mantegna, Frankie Faison, and Melinda McGraw. The Peacemaker: A train wreck, with a train loaded with nuclear weapons, in Russia leaves what appears to be a nuclear disaster in its wake. Nuclear expert Dr. Julia Kelly thinks otherwise. She is convinced the explosion was staged, and the nuclear weapons have fallen into dangerous hands. Colonel Devoe agrees, and the two must uncover the conspiracy that has lead to nuclear weapons falling into the wrong hands.

Outbreak: deadly virus has hit Cedar Creek, California. Highly transferable, in a short time the virus is spreading fast. The other problem, once infected you have less than 24 hours to live. The virus must be contained, so people are sequestered if they are near the outbreak areas.

Executive Decision: A 747 with 400 passengers has been hi-jacked. One intelligence analyst thinks the terrorist plan to drop nerve gas on the nation’s capitol. If he is right, the plane must be stopped.

Good Will Hunting: Four buddies hang out together in South Boston, although one of them has an uncommon present: he’s a prodigy. When math professor Skarsgiird gets wind of this, he demands that the youthful guy halt trashing his abilities, and sends him to a psychologist! Professor Williams tries to fracture his brittle shell. This is a well-performed fiction written by co-stars Damon and Ben Affleck that doesn’t fall short with a lack of excellent characters. Cast includes Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Affleck,Minnie Driver, SteIlan Skarsgiird, Casey Affleck, and Cole Hauser. (126 minutes, 1997)

The Born Losers: What appeared at the time just some other biker film attained new interest in the ’70s as the inception of Billy Jack; he helps free youthful dropout James from the grips of Slate’s gang. Excellent action scenes, although Laughlin’s use of brutality as an arraignment of bloodshed is already present. Cast includes Cast includes Tom Laughlin, Elizabeth James, Jeremy Slate, and William Wellman. (112 minutes, 1967)

Shadowlands: Based on the story of British author C. S. Lewis the Lion, The Sorcerer and the Closet whose content is of the hard life he had as an Oxford man in the 1950s. He is rattled by his meeting with a forthright American poet. The film is knowledgeable and moving, with Hopkins in top form and Winger his match. The other performers are also excellent. This was filmed on location at Oxford. Cast includes Richard Attenborough, Anthony Hopkins, Debra Winger, Edward Hardwick, Michael Denison, Joseph Mazzello, John Wood, Robert Fleming, and Peter Howell. (130 minutes, 1993)
